Program & Activities

We are a long established troop, over 65 years old, that is active and growing. Troop 77 offers many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and learn new life changing skills.

  • Weekly Meetings -

    • Where: local public camping facilities; Boy Scout camps; some extended trips
    • When: monthly (10 times annually) announced on Annual Program Plan.

    • Where: usually Camp Rainey Mtn. outside Clayton, GA.
    • When: usually 3 times annually (announced on Annual Program Plan).

  • Summer Camp - (click to see Troop 77 Historical, 2006, or 2012 photos)
    • Where: almost always Camp Rainey Mountain outside Clayton, GA
    • When: annually, usually in June. (announced on Annual Program Plan).

  • Order of the Arrow - (click here to see Troop 77 photos)
    • What: Boy Scout's National Honor Society BSA OA Fact Sheet. Troop 77 belongs to Jutaculla Chapter of Mowogo Lodge. Scouts are elected into "OA" by boy members of the Troop.
    • Where: Lodge meetingsCamp Rainey Mountain, outside Clayton, GA
    • When: 4-5 times annually.

    • Where: Fort A.P. Hill, Caroline County, VA
    • When: every four years
    • Who: Scouts 13yrs or older with requisite scout skills and Scoutmaster approval.

  • Philmont - (click here to see Troop 77 photos)
    • What: owned and operated by the BSA. Philmont is 137,493 acres or about 215 square miles of rugged mountain wilderness in the NE New Mexico.
    • Where: Philmont Scout Ranch, Cimmaron, NM
    • When: as available
    • Who: First Class+ Scout or Venture Crew, Age 15+
